There’s no excuse for not focusing on your photography this year – no matter who you are there’s always something worth taking pictures of – family, friends, pets, the city you live, the country you live in, special festive occasions, the food that you eat, the sky…the options are endless as long as you are willing to look for them.
1. Expose your work online
If you are already good at showing your work to others and getting critique, then good for you! There’s always new ways to share your work and if you put your work online and get feedback this way, then why not attempt to show your work another way, such as in a small exhibition?
If you have never shown your work before then get yourself online. The internet is one of the main ways photographers not share their work. It doesn’t have to just be for critique if you don’t want it to be – you can just put your work on to an online gallery, like www.flickr.com or www.picasa.com - and you will generally get a few comments on your work.

Last time we had a look at ways to motivate ourselves – as Photographers, we all get tired or stuck in a rut at times. The New Year is a good time to set some goals, and whatever they are, make sure you achieve them. Then at the end of the year, you can refer back to the challenges you set yourself and see how much you have managed to do!

It happens to every photographer. There may be one day where you are ready with a camera in hand but you are unable to choose something to photograph. You don’t know how to photograph it. There’s nothing to inspire you. You can’t get an interesting image together. Maybe you have photographer’s block – if so, here are some ideas on how to remedy it.
